Apple makes its way out, flattens Samsung!

According to the Strategy Analytics, few reports point out that the Global Smartphone Shipments are up by nearly 30% annually, that would be from 1.0 billion units in 2013 to 1.3 billion units in 2014, which is a record. And the Android accounting about 81% of the shipments.

In countries like China and Indonesia, which are the emerging markets who eventually drove the growth and proved fruitful for the Mobile industry, and is expected to do the same. When compared Android and iOS, One billion Android units were shipped which would be up from 800,000 units in 2013 while compared to 192.7 million iOS devices which would represent 15% of the total share.  

Woody Oh of SA, says that, “Microsoft shipped 38.8 million smartphones for a relatively has 3% market share worldwide in 2014. Microsoft still lacks multiple major hardware partners to built its phones, while its retail presence in major countries like China is very less.”

The Juniper Research says that the Q4 saw over 375 million smartphones shipments. In this, Samsung shipped about 315 million smartphone units in 2014. Which is about 25% of all the smartphone devices that were shipped. But the company reported its first decline in 3 years and the Q4 fell to 3% which makes to 76 million.

While all this Apple has a record quarter of 74.5 million iPhone units sold, which would represent a growth 46% while compared to Q4 in 2013. By the launch of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, for the first time ever, the company sold more devices in China that of the US. Their was a closing in for the Samsung in Q4, but the Applet market has the share of 15% for the full year in 2014.
